Tuition Support Campaign

A preschool education not only helps students get off to a great educational start; it can truly change their life.  Unfortunately, many families are unable to afford the tuition to attend the Warren Early Childhood Center.  To assist families with tuition, the Tuition Support Campaign was created.  Warren Township employees have made pledges to the fund and many of our schools are holding fundraisers to contribute to the campaign. The next step is to take the campaign to the community.

If you are interested in making a tax-deductible contribution, please contact the school office at 317.869.4750.  Thank you for making a difference!

Indianapolis Firefighters in Warren Township collect “Change for Children”

Every year the staff at the Warren Early Childhood Center in Warren Township makes an effort to raise money for their tuition support program.  The Tuition Support Program offers assistance to families who otherwise would not have the opportunity, to send their children to preschool.   During the spring, the students bring in loose change that each classroom collects as a part of the “Change for Children” campaign.  The children are helping other children like themselves be able to attend preschool and all the change goes to the tuition support fund.

This year, with the help of Indianapolis Firefighter and former parent, Mike Boyd, the five fire houses in Warren Township added to the “Change for Children” collection.  Mr. Boyd and his two children (former students), Jackson and Coleman, took cans to each fire house and collected change from the firefighters.  In the past, this family had done this from one station.  Branching out to all the stations, they were able to collect $359.77.

Preschoolers connect with the idea of firefighters.  They know they are there to put out fires, rescue people like heroes and drive a fire truck.  Many times the children pretend to be firefighters while playing outside or dress up in a hat or boots when provided.  Many of the classrooms at the Warren Early Childhood Center have had an interest in firefighters this year and have taken field trips to visit different stations around the Township.  The children have learned hands on about what a firefighter does and how to stay safe.  Now they’ve seen another way firefighters have helped children; supporting them in their earliest experiences.
