House Party is a comedy movie filled with hilarious scenes and cameos. House Party is a bit nostalgic for fans who have watched the first film.
Both films show the same themes, such as friendship. One of the more popular appearances in the movie is Lebron James, which will make it the second reboot movie he's been in after “Space Jam.”
The movie starts with two club promoters and best friends Damon and Kevin, played by Tosin Cole and Jacob Latimore. They're out of money, are about to lose the roofs over their heads. They were just fired from their jobs as house cleaners at a mansion that belongs to Lebron James. For Damon, this means he won’t be able to make rent and his aunt may kick him out. There is no room for error with Kevin, either, who needs to make money fast to pay for his daughter’s pricey school before her mother tries to take full custody.
They almost needed a miracle to get out of their financial problems. In a last ditch effort, they throw a party at Lebron’s mansion when he goes off on his meditation retreat. There is no security and no one to watch over the mansion while he’s gone so they plan to throw the party of the year. The mansion fills up with influencers, party people, and celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, Druski, Lil Wayne, Anthony Davis, Mark Cuban, Big Sean, Odell Beckam Jr., and DC Young Fly who plays Vic the DJ that turns to a trainwreck if he drinks. The friendship of Kevin and Damon is put to the test when Damon lets down Kevin yet again.
By the time LeBron makes his inevitable appearance and doesn’t seem nearly as outraged as you’d expect him to be. After LeBron’s championship ring is stolen, Mescudi tells Kevin and Damon he knows how to replace it and they go off on a side journey that’s all about the Illuminati.
That crazy departure from the main story leaves fans wanting more of that madness, and less of the bash going on at LeBron’s place. While this remix of House Party is nostalgic, it also stays true to the first version's celebration of friendship. It teaches us to appreciate the ones who have your back and the ones who make life interesting. This movie is rated R, as it contains some inappropriate scenes, language, and drug use
