The supernatural horror series, “Evil Dead Rises,” is coming soon and will have a tremendous difference from the original.
The movie’s plot surrounds a girl discovering a book in her sister's apartment building, which ends up giving rise to terrifying demons seen in the last “Evil Dead” movie. This film brings with it a new change of scenery - as instead of being held in a cabin in the woods, the film takes place within the city of L.A. The last “Evil Dead” film in 2013 was a reboot and recreation of the initial story, making the sister the protagonist - as it revealed a deeper insight into her thought process during the initial “possession” before she inevitably became the sole survivor by the end of the film. This was a plot twist from the original trilogy, even though the setting was still in the woods. The protagonist's survival after the film ends is unknown and the book closing means that it remains inside the cabin - waiting for its next victims to stumble upon it.
“Evil Dead Rises” introduces new characters to the trilogy and gives a fresh perspective to the original story, creating a female lead in a completely different atmosphere which opened up a door to new experiences for the audience.
The cast and creators of this new film are Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland), Beth (Lily Sullivan), Jessica (Mia Challis), Gabrielle (Jaden Daniels), Danny (Morgan Davies), Kassie (Nell Fisher), Gabriel (Jayden Daniels) and Jake (Billy Reynolds-McCarthy), with the director and producer being Lee Cronin and Robert Tapert.
There is a trailer for “Evil Deadises” that was released on Jan. 4, which lines up with the storyline very well. The soundtrack so far on “Evil Dead Rises” is ¨Whatever Will Be, Will Be” by Connie Francis. This film can be watched on HBO Max, AMC Theaters, Regal Theaters, and Cinemark Theaters to name a few on April 21st, 2023.
