Highlighting senior events

Around this time of year, it is important that all seniors are aware of what is to come for the end of their high school years.

FAFSA

FAFSA is a free online application that students fill out in order to qualify for federal financial aid. Many states and colleges use FAFSA to grant state and institutional financial aid as well. The deadline for students to submit their FAFSA is  June 30, by 11:59 p.m. If any edits or corrections need to be made, they need to be done before 11:59 on Sept. 9, 2023. Forms can be filled out online at studentaid.gov.

Scholarships

Students should apply for scholarships as soon as possible. While most scholarships require an essay, many don’t. Free scholarships and grants are available to all students with the right resources and research.

Luncheon

This year's senior luncheon date has been set for May 19. The event will take place in the Fieldhouse. All students will wear their caps and gowns. The luncheon is a time of reflection and celebration for the seniors on all their accomplishments through the years and to say they finally made it.

Caps and gowns

All students were asked to purchase their cap and gown by Feb. 10 and will be able to pick them up in early May.

Prom

Prom will be held on Apr 29, 2023 from 6-11 p.m. The theme for this year's prom will be “All of the Lights” by Kanye West ft. Rihanna. It will be held at the Indiana Rooftop Ballroom and the dinner service will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Commencement

All seniors will be given a certain amount of tickets to commencement, which will be handed out during the luncheon, and there will be no tickets for sale. The Class of 2023 Commencement rehearsal will be Jun 4, 2023 at 9 a.m. The actual ceremony will be later that day at 4 p.m. As the date approaches, more information will become available.
