New book created from the mind of William Kent Krueger

A river can hold many things, even the victim of a murder. “The River We Remember” is a novel written by William Kent Krueger about a small town in Minnesota that finds itself the crime scene of the murder of its mayor.

The plot of the book begins in Jewel, Minnesota, where the townspeople are celebrating Memorial Day to honor the sacrifice of the fallen soldiers in the many wars of the world, only to discover the half-naked corpse of their mayor floating in the Alabaster River, killed by a shotgun blast. The town sheriff Brody Dern takes charge of leading the investigation, with many fingers pointed toward Jewel’s residing Native American WWII veteran Noah Bluestone as the main culprit. As more suspicion starts to pile on the town of Jewel, it’s up to Sheriff Dern to solve the case and put to rest a few demons of his own before the town becomes overwhelmed with violence.

The author, William Kent Krueger, is an American novelist and crime writer who is best known for his series of novels following Cork O’Conner in Minnesota. Krueger wrote many stories that people still read to this day, including “Iron Lake,” “Blood Hollow,” “Red Knife” and “The Devil’s Bed,” to name a few.

To keep a long story short, “The River We Remember” is a powerful story that shares a striking resemblance to problems society finds in its midst today, such as racism and intolerance. This book can be bought at Barnes and Noble, Simon & Schuster and Amazon.
