     Women's History Month is a time to celebrate all women as well as their greatest achievements and accomplishments. There are many notable Hoosier women to celebrate such as Andie Hines-Lagemann, Loretta Rush, Lily King, and many others.  

Andie Hines-Lagemann- 

     Andie Hines-Lagemann is a successful entrepreneur who has started a nonprofit for female business owners. Andie helps her clients align their strengths and goals by influencing their emotional intelligence. Her business is in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and started in August of 2020. Andie has been recognized with the Champions of Change Award and rwas the recipient of the Torchbearer Award.

Loretta Rush-

     Loretta Rush is the first woman in Indiana to be named Chief Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court. Rush was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Indiana as a child. She went to Purdue University and earned her undergraduate degree, then went on to earn her law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, finishing both with honors. Rush was named Indiana Chamber Government Leader of the Year in 2018, she was awarded the Indiana Civil Rights Commission Spirit of Justice Award, the Indiana Business Journal Women of Influence Award, and many other awards.

Lily King-

     Lily King is an Olympic swimmer and has now won five medals in the Olympics. King is from Evansville, IN, and is 25-years-old. Lilly specializes in breaststroke and has received two gold medals, two silver, and one bronze. King broke American Records in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, and she became the first woman to break the record 2:03 in the 200 breaststroke. She is still striving to become one of the top swimmers in the world.

TaQuita Townsend-

    TaQuita Townsend recently opened the first Black-owned children's care clinic in Indiana. She is a family nurse practitioner who was motivated by the love for kids, and helping people have reliable and affordable health care within the neighborhood she grew up in. TaQuita has named the clinic “Children's Express Care Clinic.” The clinic was opened in December, and will have been open for four months. Townsend describes the clinic as the middle ground between urgent care and primary doctors.

Tamika Catchings- 

    Tamika Catchings is a former professional basketball player. Catchings is one of 11 who has won championships in college and the WNBA. She has won four gold medals and the FUBA World Cup. She joined the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, and is now retired after the 2016 season was over, and became the team's General Manager, but is now stepping back and focusing on her family, and joined the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

Fanchon Stinger- 

     Fanchon Stinger is a TV News Anchor and broadcasts the evening newscast on Fox59.  She was born in Detroit, Michigan, and has received many awards. Stinger has received 15 Emmy awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Best Evening Newscast 2015, and a lot of other awards as well. Stinger is serving as a Board member of the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault. Stinger has achieved many things and is still making a difference in Indiana.
