Spring break is coming up, and not everyone has the money to go on vacation or expensive events. Even without much money, there are still ways to enjoy your spring break and get out of the house. There are many places in Indianapolis that are free or low cost for everyone to enjoy.
Parks are a great place to get fresh air, walk your dog, go on a hike, have a picnic, or play at the playground. They’re also free. Some great parks to visit over spring break are: Fort Harrison State Park, Paul Ruster Park, Garfield Park, White River State Park, and Pogue's Run Art and Nature Park.
Libraries are also a great place to go when you don’t have much money. As long as you have a library card, you can borrow books any time. The Warren Branch Library is a great library and is also very convenient due to location. Try the local branch or somewhere new this break.
Spending time with friends and family is another great way to spend your spring break. If you have board games, or even a pack of cards, you can host a game night. You could also stock up on snacks and binge watch some of your favorite shows or movies at home.
With your free time, trying new things could be a fun experience that can cost little to no money at all. Arts and crafts, exercising, cooking, baking, or writing are some good examples of fun things to try. This can also lead to potential career opportunities.
If you have firewood, tent(s), sleeping bags, chairs, lights, and of course, a backyard, then you can have a cozy little campout in your backyard. Whether it’s with family, friends, or by yourself, you’re bound to have a great time.
Visiting downtown Indianapolis, especially in the evening, is a very pretty sight. The scenery and lights are great to look at. Other than the scenery, there are other things to do downtown. Canoeing, walking down the canal, and visiting shops or malls like the Circle Centre Mall are some ideas to start with.
With all these places that are affordable, everyone can enjoy their spring break without having to worry about money.
