Get ready for one crazy game night. “Tiny Tina’s Wonderland” is a game that combines the main aspects of Dungeons and Dragons with the crazy, gun-slinging madness of Borderlands.
The full plot of the game is unknown, but from what could be identified in the trailers, an old background character from the Borderland series gathers some mercenaries from the apocalyptic wasteland and asks them to be players in a good old-fashioned DnD campaign of her own making. The background character in question is Tiny Tina, the 13-year old demolitions expert who made appearances in “Borderlands 2,” “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel,” and “Borderlands 3.” She is the game’s version of a Dungeon Master, who controls everything in the campaign, from boss encounters to scenery changes.
The graphics for the game are similar to that of the Borderlands series, but gets rid of all the sci-fi elements and replaces them with a fantasy-tabletop environment. The game has access to multiplayer and character creation, which allows the player to not only play with friends or people who have the game but also allows them to create their character from a couple of different classes. The classes have a fantasy-esque flair to them, but retain the original basics for the class in general, from Brr-zerker to Grave-Born.
The game’s main plot is shrouded in mystery, but the voice actors for the characters and non-playable characters are wide open books. Ashly Burch and Jim Foronda make a return and voice act Tiny Tina and Claptrap. Ashly Burch is an American voice actress and writer, best known for voice acting Aloy from “Horizon Zero Dawn” and “Horizon Zero West,” Tiny Tina from “Borderlands,” Miss Pauling from “Team Fortress 2,” and being a writer for Adventure Time while it was still on the air. Jim Foronda is a Texas-based voice actor, who has voiced Oscar Mike in “Battlefront,” Perfect Cell in “Dragon Ball Kai,” and Muscular in “My Hero Academia.”
With such great potential gameplay, Gearbox Software went hard to try and impress fans. Gearbox has made many games over the years of its founding on February 16, 1999. It’s most famous and well-known game series is Borderlands. Of course, that isn’t to say that they didn’t help other gaming companies with their projects. A couple examples of this were “We Happy Few” made by Compulsion Games, “Battleborn” by 2K, and the Half-Life series from Sierra Studios.
With all this great stuff, it should be a no-brainer for fans of Borderlands and fantasy games to love this game. “Tiny Tina’s Wonderland” will be unveiled on March 25, at a price of $9.99. The game will be accessible for the Xbox 1, Playstation 4, Steam, Xbox Series X/S, and the Playstation 5.
