Newest film shows remastered origins of Marvel Legend

The line between hero and villain is about to be broken. “Morbius” is the newest Marvel film coming out this year, alongside “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”

The plot itself is centered almost completely around the multitudes of Morbius comics that were published over the years. The developers of the film decided to make it more one-sided with the comic while adding a modern MCU style.

Morbius first debuted in the “Marvel Universe” as a villain in “The Amazing Spider-Man” comic issue #101, which was cover-dated in October 1971. Born and raised in Greece, Morbius suffered from a rare blood disease, causing him to move to New York and find a cure for it. His search led to him attempting to create a cure that was a mixture of vampire bat DNA and electroshock therapy. This did not work the way Morbius had intended, as instead of curing him of his disease, it infected him with a form of pseudo-vampirism. This new step in evolution allowed him to have the strengths of a supernatural vampire, with the only downside being that he has to drink quantities of human blood to survive.

The cast was a suitable selection for the film. Jared Leto, an American actor, and musician plays Dr. Micheal Morbius in the film. He started his acting career in television appearances, playing the role of Jordan Catalano in the television series “My So-Called Life.” He also made appearances and played roles in “Suicide Squad,” “America,” “EMI Lawsuit,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” and “Mr. Nobody.” Matt Smith, an English actor, plays the role of Lucien “Milo” Morbius. Matt had a grand shot to fame by playing the role of the “Eleventh Doctor” in “Doctor Who”, while also playing the roles of The T-5000 in “Terminator Genisys,” Morgan in “Patient Zero”, and Jack in “Last Night in Soho.” Adria Arjona, a Puerto Rican actress, takes the role of Martine Bancoft, Morbius’s love interest. She more so appeared in television than in movies, taking the roles of Emily in “True Detective,” Dorthy Gale in “Emerald City,” and a mermaid in “Monsterland.”

All and all, “Morbius” is a grand movie to watch, taking an old character that was sadly forgotten and giving him a swift redesign. The movie itself came out in theaters on April 1
