The grabber is on the run

Although 2021 was filled with great horror movies like “The Quiet Place 2” and “Halloween Kills,” “The Black Phone” introduces a new movie to keep fans on their toes.

“The Black Phone” is about Finney Shaw, a shy and clever 13-year-old boy who is being held in a soundproof basement by a sadistic, masked killer. The plot shows a disconnected phone on the wall starting to ring and one can hear the voices of the murders previous victims. Members of his family are making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.

The trailer shows missing children, vans following the kids, the “magician” taking Finney, schools, police trying to help find Finney, and Finney being trapped in the basement. Many fans felt like the trailer was a spoiler, but it may have been a plot twist, we don’t know. The idea of ghosts helping out Finney is very cool and many fans can take this situation as a lesson.

The director of this horror movie is Scott Derrickson. He also has made many hit movies like “Sinister” and “Sinister 2,” “Poltergeist,” “Devil’s Knot,” “Shadow Prowler,” “Land of Plenty,” “No Man of God,” “Hyperion,” “Misunderstood,” and “Satanic.”

“The Black Phone” cast members include Ethan Hawk, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, James Ransone, Jeremy Davies, Gina Jun, E. Roger, and many more. Ethan Hawk stars as “The Grabber” and Mason Thames stars as “Finney Shaw” the 13-year-old boy. Those are the two main characters the movie mostly talks about and we are looking forward to seeing Ethan Hawk star in this movie.

However, the soundtrack for this movie is not out yet, but the album “Tormented” is in the official trailer.

“The Black Phone” was originally set for release on Jan. 28 and later on Feb. 4 before being delayed again to be rescheduled for release in theaters on June 24, 2022. It will be available to stream on Universal’s Peacock website 45 days after its theatrical debut.
