Get ready, because we’re diving into the multiverse. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is the newest Marvel film coming out, revolving around the multiverse theory and the end of “Spiderman: No Way Home.”
For those unfamiliar with the subject, the theory was created by physicist Hugh Everest, which suggests our universe is one in an infinite sprawl of them. Each universe in this multiversal tree is identical to this current universe, with the only thing separating them all is a change that is either small or big. An example of such is the 2016 election of Clinton vs. Trump. In this universe, Donald Trump wins the election, but in a separate universe, Hillary Clinton wins.
Besides that, the film’s plot is riddled with secrecy-but thanks to a dozen viewings of its trailers-everyone can safely assume that this new movie will be based around Strange’s first multiversal spell, which backfired horribly. The trailers show Strange, in hopefulness, going through the Multiverse to go and fix it, with the film’s top antagonist Wanda Maximoff, also known as “The Scarlet Witch.”
Benedict Cumberbatch, an English actor, yet again reprises his role as Dr. Stephen Strange. He has acted in many other films and TV shows besides the MCU, such as “Sherlock,” “The Power of the Dog,” “The Imitation Game,” “The Courier,” and “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.” Elizabeth Olsen, an American actress, plays the role of Wanda Maximoff in the film. She has, like Benedict, made appearances in many movies, even her own show as Wanda. Some of the films and shows she has appeared in are “Godzilla,” “Captain America: Civil War,” “Wandavision,” and “Love and Death.”
In short, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is a grand movie that Marvel fans will get a good kick out of. The film has already come out on May 6, with it being featured at AMC Theaters, Regal UA Circle, IMAX Theaters, and others.
