New movie shows how scary a smile can be

A smile can be scarier than a killer or any eldritch abomination. “Smile” is an upcoming American psychological horror film that revolves around the subject of smiling.

The movie begins with a psychiatrist named Dr. Rose Cotter, who is tasked with helping a patient. It was only after the patient arrived, that she told Rose of her problem: she is seeing something no one else can, and it is always smiling. After saying that, the patient freaks out and falls to the ground, causing Rose to reach for an emergency phone and contact someone to help. Rose turns around to check on the patient, but she is off the floor and holding a shard of a broken vase in her hand. She brings the shard to her face and cuts herself to make a bloody smile, effectively killing her. The doctor then has to solve this unknown phenomena, as more and more patients start to die from the same fate.

One of the roles in the movie is Dr. Rose Cotter, played by Sosie Ruth Bacon. Sosie is an American actress, born to married actors Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick after the filming of “Miss Rose White. Her first stepping stone into a life of acting was playing the role of 10-year-old Emily in the 2005 film “Loverboy.  Some of the movies she has acted in are: “Loverboy,” “Wishin’ and Hopin’,” “Ana Maria in Novela Land,” “Off Season,” and “Story of a Girl.”

Another character in the film is Joel, a hospital administrator who helps Dr. Cotter with this odd case. He is played by Kyle Gallner, an American actor who is well known for playing the role of Cassidy “Beaver” Casablancas in Veronica Mars. He has also acted in movies such as “Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Welcome to Happiness,” “The Finest Hour,” “Scream,” “Cherry,” and a lot of others to name a few.

The movie is produced by Paramount Pictures. Paramount is an American film and television production and distribution studio, being the fifth oldest film studio alongside Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Fox, RKO Studios, and Warner Bros. Many movies and television shows have been made under Paramount’s name, including “Transformers,” “Bar Rescue,” “Friday The 13th,” “68-Whiskey,” “Interstellar,” “Ink Master,” “Gemini Man” and many others.

The producers of the film have been introduced, but credit should be given to the movie’s director. Parker Finn is a filmmaker, screenplay writer and director hailing from Los Angeles, California. He has made only three movies, with “Smile” being included in this list. The other two movies Parker has made are “Laura Hasn’t Slept” and “The Hidebehind.”

Many people may not know what the full plot of the movie is, but for now, it’s best if people just left it up to faith for the movie’s context to be fulfilled. The movie comes out on Sept. 30th, just one month and a day away from Halloween, and will be shown in theaters.
