Anya Taylor Joy, actress of Netflix’s hit show “The Queen’s Gambit,” stars in a new dark comedy horror film, “The Menu.”

This film is about a couple that travels to a remote Island to attend a very exclusive restaurant called Hawthorne. Margot (Anya Taylor Joy) is less into the experience than her partner, Tyler (Nicholas Hoult). She suspects that something was off about the whole experience at this restaurant. They are served by the celebrity chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes), who has prepared a luxurious menu for the couple and the other guests. Soon after it becomes obvious that the chef and his restaurant aren’t what they say they are, guests turn up dead, while the other chefs show how devoted they are to head chef Slowik.

Searchlight Pictures dropped the trailer on Aug. 10, and it has already raked in over 3 million views. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sep. 8, 2022. In the trailer, it’s revealed that only 12 guests can dine at Slowik’s restaurant at a time. His only way of making a profit off of his food is by charging $1,250 per head for anyone who wants to eat there. Lots of fans believe that the film will be about cannibalism since in the trailer for the film you can see some of the guests being hunted by the chef at the restaurant, but the answer to the question is unknown as of now. @gallerybyg said, “Are ‘The Menu’ about cannibalism? Because it’s giving off ‘movies about cannibalism’ vibes.”
