Winter has finally come around the bend, covering many areas in snow and ice. With the season’s arrival, many people in the U.S. are preparing to celebrate Christmas. During this joyful holiday, many are hanging up decorations or singing carols, while others are keeping warm by the fireplace and taking some time to read. Luckily for those who love a little spice in their literature, a new rom-com novel for the holiday season has been released to the public and is making its way to people’s bookshelves. “The Christmas Wish” is a new book that has been published for the winter season.
The book’s plot centers around Gwen Baker, a single lawyer, who is hoping a good old-fashioned family Christmas will be enough to help forget some struggles that she is facing, namely that her career is hanging by a thread and that she is now single. Thankfully, she’ll be able to not think about these problems as a new one emerges - being trapped in a time loop where Gwen will have to relive the same Christmas Day over and over. As Gwen tries to figure out how to get out of her holly jolly purgatory, she realizes that in the meantime, she could try the love route again with the boy next door, Dev.
Lindsey Kelk, the writer for “The Christmas Wish,” is a best-selling British author, journalist, and former children’s book editor. She was inspired by a trip from New York to London to write her first book “I heart New York,” before immediately deciding to make it into a book series - every story based around cities she visited in her teen years. Some of the other books that the author has made are “I heart Paris,” “About a girl,” “On a night like this” and “Cinder and sparks: Magic at midnight.”
This book is perfect for those who love to cozy up to the fire, pop open a book, and simply relax in the comfort of home and literature. “The Christmas Wish” has already been released on Nov. 3, going at a price of $12.89 on Amazon for a hardcover book.
