The story of how Whitney Houston became an Icon

     A biographical musical film, “I want to dance with somebody,” has been unveiled. This film is a powerful celebration of the incomparable Whitney Houston. It is a drama about the life and times of the iconic singer. “I Want to Dance With Somebody” portrays a multifaceted woman behind the voice. This story recounts the life of a woman from New Jersey who became one of the most rewarding and best-selling artists. Audiences take on the inspirational, poignant, and emotional journey through Houston's trailblazing life and career.   

     The trailer for this film went along with the plot well, it shows Houston fighting back against those trying to control her. The trailer gives a glimpse of Houston's iconic performances including her reduction of the National anthem at the super bowl also a recreation of her wedding and the birth of her daughter. 

     The film's cast is Naomi Ackie as Whitney Houston, Stanley Tucci as Clive Davis, Ashton Sanders as Bobby Brown, Tamara Tunie as Cissy Houston, Nafessa Williams as Robyn Crawford, Clarke Peters as John Houston, and Bria Danielle as Singleton.  

     This film is directed by Kasi Lemmons and written by Anthony McCarten. The scenes of this production were shot in Arlington, Massachusetts, at Worcester Regional Airport, and Wang Theatre. 

     The soundtrack for the film is “The Greatest Love of All,”” I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and “Didn’t We Almost Have It All.” 

     This film is scheduled to come into theaters on Dec. 23, 2022 and is sure to be a hit with Whitney Houston fans young and old.
