Newly released HBO film explores sequel to “A Christmas Story”

“A Christmas Story Christmas” is a newly released sequel that follows the original “Christmas Story,'' which came out in 1983.

This film takes place in 1970, with the adult Ralphie taking his family to his old childhood home on Cleveland Street to show his children what Christmas was like when he was growing up. Ralphie ends up catching up with childhood friends and reconciling the passing of his old man. The cast of this film has a return of four characters from the original 1983 film Ian Petrella as Randy, Zack Ward as Scut Farkus, Scott Schwartz as Flick, and R.D Robb as Schwartz. It is revealed that Julie Hagerty, Erinn Hayes, River Drosche, and Julianna Layne are set to join the cast. Hayes will play Ralphie´s wife, and Drosche and Layne will play his kids.

The director and creators of this film are Clay Kaytis, Nick Schenk, Warner Bros, and Legacy for HBO Max. The original “Christmas Story” was set in the 1940s, and the plot tells the story of a young boy named Ralphie who attempts to convince his parents, his teacher, and Santa of a specific gift that seems to be a perfect gift in his eyes despite all the adults saying it is dangerous. Since Ms.Parker destroyed the famous leg lamp in the previous Christmas movie it's unlikely to be in the film. This movie was filmed in Bulgaria located near the Vitosha mountains. Both the original and newer films are available to stream on HBO Max.
