Most Phase 4 Marvel movies have not received good reviews lately, but Marvel's Special presentations have, so far, made fans really excited. Following the popular “Werewolf by Night” release, “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” has been another winner with audiences. The special has produced one of the best scores on Rotten Tomatoes of any MCU project.
The guardians are up to their Shenanigans during the holiday season. Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Drax (Dave Bautista) go to search for the perfect Christmas present for their leader, Starlord (Chris Pratt) after the loss of his beloved girlfriend, Gamora (Zoe Saldaña). Mantis and Drax find the perfect present from the planet Starlord was born on, planet earth. Since Starlord had to kill his own father to save the world, Mantis and Drax thought it would be the perfect Idea to get Starlord the father figure he always wanted, Kevin Bacon. When they find Bacon, he is discussed by their looks and freaks out but before he can do anything Mantis puts him in a trance to calm him down so they can get him to Starlord for Christmas.
This holiday special will not affect “The Guardians of the Galaxy 3” movie. James Gunn, the director of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies, wanted a light-hearted and funny holiday movie before the third movie. Karen Gillan, the actress who plays Nebula and Pom Klementieff, opened up about their experience reading the script for the third movie and they say “We read it in the same room together, and then looked at each other and we were in floods of tears... so emotional. You're learning more about existing characters and on a deeper level.” James Gunn has also teased that at least one major character will die in the sequel, and fans are worried about which character that might be.
“The Guardians of the Galaxy” are some of the most loved characters in the Marvel universe. This Christmas they show the joys of being around everyone you love with their new Christmas movie “The Guardian of the Galaxy: Christmas special” only on Disney+.
