Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff.
There a few important updates:
First, I would like to acknowledge and honor our Veterans as we celebrate Veterans Day today. Thank you for your service to our country.
We know that this school year has been a challenging year for our students, families and staff. We are seeing the negative effects of COVID through attendance, grades, and students not engaging in their school work or extracurricular activities. If you have a concern about your child’s social and emotional well being, please reach out to their teacher, counselor, or principal.
For our K-8 families who would like to request a change to their child’s second semester instructional model, the request window will be opening Friday, November 13th and will remain open until Monday, December 7th. Forms will be included in K-8 school newsletters this Friday. There is no action needed if you are staying with your current model.
We have greatly appreciated our parents for partnering with us to help keep our students and staff safe. Our parents have done a great job of communicating with us and keeping their kids at home when they are not feeling well. We know attendance is a critical part of a student's success, but the safety of everyone is our top priority. Please continue to communicate with your child’s school if your son or daughter is experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or has been tested for COVID-19. In either situation, please keep your child at home.
We are continuing to monitor our COVID-19 district and county data on a daily basis. In the event that a change in our learning model is needed, we will do our best to communicate with our families and staff in advance so that adjustments can be made.
Please continue to social distance, wear your face covering, and wash your hands frequently. And, please consider getting your flu shot.
Thank you for your continued investment in Warren students and schools.
Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
