Good afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,
We are looking forward to welcoming back our IN-PERSON K-5 students to our classrooms on Tuesday, January 19th. Families can expect a phone call from their child’s bus driver to remind them of their bus stop information. New K-5 students to VIRTUAL can also expect a phone call from their new teacher with details for their first day.
6-12 students will remain VIRTUAL through Friday, February 12th. The learning model request window for students in grades 6th through 8th will open on Friday, January 15th until Friday, January 29th at 4PM. Links for the request form will be on each school’s website.
Due to 5th graders returning to our Intermediate Middle Schools on Tuesday, January 19th, food distribution sites will be at Raymond Park Intermediate Middle School, Moorhead Community Resource Center and Warren Central High School from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Tuesdays and Fridays. This Friday, January 15th will include all 5 locations.
As we prepare for potential inclement weather this winter, an inclement weather delay and closing FAQ has been created to address this during the IN-PERSON, VIRTUAL, and HYBRID window. The FAQ can be found on our website by clicking District Information under the Explore Tab.
Last week, the Marion County Public Health Department made a change in the metrics that they will be using to provide guidance to Marion County schools and districts. The change in metrics will now calculate and monitor the number of cases per 100,000. The county cases per 100,000 are available on their website at marionhealth.org. As a district, we will continue to monitor Marion County data, our district COVID data, along with our student and staff attendance to make the best decisions for students and staff .
I am continually appreciative of our incredible staff for all that they have done to adjust and make the most of this school year. As we head into the second half of the year, I encourage our students and families to reach out with whatever support is needed to have a successful finish.
Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
